The word latex is also used to refer to natural latex rubber, particularly non-vulcanized rubber. You can find this material used in a lot of different items including gloves, condoms and of course clothes. Latex is an extremely unique and powerful!

Is Latex Natural or Synthetic?

There are two different types of latex – natural and synthetic. The synthetic type is created from two materials, styrene and butadiene which you get from petroleum.

The natural form of latex is used in a lot of different medical items including surgical items. They harvest this latex from a rubber tree (actually called a Hevea Brasilienesis). They then gather this liquid by reaching behind the bark and extracting the liquid that flows there. The liquid is there as a natural protector for the tree.

Once that liquid has been taken out it will cool into a solid. This is done simply by letting it touch air. It’s then rolled out into sheets and cut accordingly.

What Does it Feel Like to Wear Latex?

Latex clothing feels like you’re getting a hug from your outfit. These outfits are a great way to boost your confidence as they hold everybody in a way that other materials can’t.

‘Tight’, ‘Sexy’, ‘Sweaty’, ‘Empowering’ – these are all words you’ll hear people use when they’re defining their latex wearing experience. Latex is extra smooth and very sexy.

Everyone will have a different experience with their latex outfit depending on the shape and cut and the temperature of the place they’re going. If it’s a cold night, you can expect your latex outfit to keep you cool too. You can combat this by layering up with jackets and stockings. However, if it’s a hot day you can expect to get a little sweaty.

Why Do People Wear Latex?

Everyone has a different reason. Some people love the confidence boost it gives them and others just love the material. Latex can be used to add a bit of spice in your bedroom or a show-stopping outfit at your next event. The only way to find out if it is for you is to give it a go.

Putting On Latex Clothes

Depending on whether or not your latex has been chlorinated (or ‘treated’) you’ll have a different experience. Most places will do this for an extra fee or recommend you send this off to a professional.  Untreated latex can be sticky to touch and will require talc or a lubricant.

If you have treated your latex you can just slide on in.

Is Latex For Me?

If you’re interested in trying out latex – go for it! Once you have a piece you can feel it out and see if it’s right for you. It’s important to note that latex is not breathable, (it won’t feel like anything else you’ve worn before) and has to be treated with care, so if you’re not going to put in the care for your piece it might not be right for you.

If it’s your first time wearing latex, perhaps start with a top or sine shorts to get used to the feel. Once you get used to it that’s when the addiction begins. You’ll be in a cat suit before you know it!
